Not only was it fascinating, but I followed the link to TED's site and have now spent an embarrassing amount of time watching the documentaries on there. I've called my husband over so many times to watch particular segments that he's pretty much given up on getting other things done tonight, too... These relationships can be tricky. I met my father for the first time almost 7 years ago and it's hard to fit into his life with a wife, kids, and grandkids in place. I'm not sure they're all that happy to see me. :) So nice to read about your relationship with your stepmother and how it all took place - and your openness with it. The people in your life and the characters in your books are all so fascinating - great storytelling. What a fabulous story, Sandi! These relationships can be tricky.
