I write about how much I’m going to re-train myself to love the summer–all the good and the bad it has to offer–and then today I get bitten by a Lyme tick, a huge thunderstorm warning comes up in the afternoon, AND my sunburn starts peeling.
Summer obviously is not going to pander!

HAHAHA! I just finished reading your beautiful description of the summer and got all excited and rethought my own outlook and then I read this! It’s so true – you want to feel all summer-y and careless, but it just can’t happen! How is it that when we were kids the sunburn never bothered us, the snakes never came near us, and the water was never too cold to go in? I also never cared about being sweaty, dirty, or having cuts on my feet from running around outside.
By the way – I hope the tick didn’t get to dig in too far! Those are SCARY!

Thank you, Kat. I think I got the tick out before he did too much damage, although I am watching the spot for the old familiar bulls-eye pattern. Worse, though, has been the itchy sunburn–and the way that when I turn over in bed, the sheets are actually too hot to touch, just from sleeping on them with my sunburned self! What’s up with that?
